SUN SAND FUN ADVENTURE!
We are young, adventurous, and free! We are the NEW BREEDS, we are the super SEGUI cousins!
After a simple random FB group chat courtesy of our promotor, Sem, we (seven of us; Joyce, Tin, Sem, Paco, Katkat, Dana and Paolo) gamely agreed to spend our Saturday at Sandbox, Porac, Pampanga.
Friday afternoon, we were fetched by Kuya Johnny at Dagupan and went to Tito Rod's place at Raffles Green Subdvision, Mangaldan. We spent the night laughing our heart and ass out! ;) slept together in one room just like our old childhood days bonding.
We woke up early the following day, ate breakfast and left Mangaldan at 6:30am. Ooops! of course, our generous Tito Rod didnt forget to give us our allowance for the trip, P1000 kasama na entrance, budget meal and extra rice! ;)
Via TPLEX and SCTEX we arrived at SandBox, POrac after almost 2-hour-drive, just in time for the 9am opening of the adventure park. We didnt have a hard time looking for its location. From SCTEX, we took the Porac Toll exit and few meters more, we saw Sandbox na.
Of course, we had to do the mandatory group shot before entering the park. Thanks to Kuya Johnny who took our group photo.
Sandbox is an adventure camp built by Ayala Land. It's not your ordinary kiddie amusement park as it offers thrilling attractions.
We availed of the Package A for P650, it included the fees for the Entrance, Giant Swing, Wall Climb, Rappel Wall, Roller Coaster Zipline, Aerial Walk and Mini Golf.
Our first stop was the GIANT SWING done in pairs. Since our number was odd, 7, I was accompanied by Kuya Rommel, one of the operators. It's like the "swing' version of Enchanted Kingdom's Anchors Away wherein they will pull you up approx 10-15 meters high, and in in one snap, released the clip and let you swing. I shouted my lungs out as I felt my tummy churning!
Still recovering from the 'awesome' experience, we goofed around and had photo ops at Sandbox' playpen area. Sandbox is literally sand everywhere, according to my research and blog readings, (eazy traveler) Sandbox at Alviera is an outdoor adventyre park located at 1,100 hectares of mixed-used integrated Ayala development in Porac, Pampanga set in a desert-like lahar landscape brought about by the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in 1991.
On to a higher level of challenge, we went to the Adventure Tower, 5-storey structure that consists of 'buwis buhay' activities such as wall climbing, rapelling, wall climbing, free fall and the starting point for the roller coaster zipline ride.
We started with the Zipline Roller Coaster. Like an ordinary zipline only with a twist! We experienced gliding up and down. Ahmmm medyo masakit nga lang sa singit because of the harness.
We had to change our harness for our next ride, Free Fall. PS. Only for brave hearts! We climbed up to the last floor (5th) of the Adventure Tower where the jump off point for Free Fall is located. As Kuya operator told us, "no jumping, just take a step and free fall... weeeeeee!
One of my favorite attraction is the Wall Climb. I'm mayabang because I climbed and reached the highest among us. Alam na kung sino ang unggoy sa kanyang past life. I was a meter away from the top when I burnt my fingers as I held on one of the wall climb grips! I got blisters as remembrance.
Next challenge we took was the Rappel. Again, we had to climb to the 5th floor of the Adventure Tower. We wore gloves and harness for our safety. It was walking and kicking against the wall going down.
Exhausted from the challenges at Adventure Tower, we had to catch our breath for a while and hydrate. It's almost 11 am and we felt the scorching heat of the sun on our skin. After recovering from the super init feeling, we queued for the Aerial Walk attraction. It took us almost an hour before we reached our turn. Thanks to the 'special' singit treatment of the TV 5 crew for the shooting of LJ Moreno and her team. #medyobitter #sarcastic
As their website described, Aerial Walk is a high rope adventure course of nets and rope walkways. The Aerial Walk is a series of activities that will test each users' agility, balance and flexibility. It was very challenging for all of us. As the big Ate, I had to assist the bunso Paolo on this attraction. There were portions where Pao can't reached the ropes to attach the harness clips, so I had to do it. Seeing Pao endured all the challenges, aba batang may laban! I'm a proud ate!
We decided not to avail of the Mini Golf anymore even it was part of our package. We were all tired and preferred to just eat. Before we left Sandbox, I took another mandatory jump shot!
It was a saturdate filled with fun memories. This was our first bonding without our parents, and definitely not the last. As we told and retold our experiences to our parents, Titas, Titos and Lolas we will always have the sense of pride that we, the kabataang Seguis; young, adventurous, and free! we are the NEW BREEDS, we are the super SEGUI cousins
